My daughter just went to her first Prom. The last time I made her a fancy dress, I told her I only wanted to make a dress like that once a year, so she could choose it for Homecoming or Prom, and if she wanted me to make a dress like that for two occasions, she could pay for the fabric for the second.
Read MoreI wanted to post some of my more recent sewing projects. The projector has made sewing so fast and easy since I bought it almost a year ago. It got bumped a couple times this winter by my kids or myself, but re-calibrating it wasn’t very difficult. Looking back at my sewing projects since my last post, most have been Christmas stockings, but there have been a fair amount of clothes too, including several new projects for myself. I bought fabric to make new winter clothes 2-3 winters ago and finally used it!

I have made my daughter lots of dresses for various occasions, including two she’s worn for Eighth Grade Formal, Church Prom, and Homecoming last year. But I knew that this one needed to be a step above. I want her to feel comfortable, beautiful, and not have her outfit look homemade. Plus, when she was a baby and I began sewing for her, I determined that I wanted to become good enough at sewing that I could one day sew her formal dresses.
