New Pattern! Lyla May Handbag (plus a pattern sale)

I’m happy to release my newest pattern, the Lyla May Handbag! This pattern was first inspired by a design that a customer asked for earlier this year. I loved the final result but wasn’t planning on making a pattern. However, positive responses on Facebook changed my mind. You know how I am with sizes—virtually all of my patterns have multiple sizes. The original size I made was for a 10” frame and the final result was 14” wide and tall. That’s so large! I ended up drafting this pattern in three smaller sizes as well.

Where to buy purse frames for the Lyla May Handbag

I’ve got a new pattern coming out later in June and it uses a purse frame. One of the common questions I always get is, “where do I buy a purse frame?” I have a similar post for my Flourish and Curvaceous patterns. However that post is five years old now, and while I do try to glance at the links periodically to see if they still work, it may not be completely up to date. I wanted to make a new post for this pattern.

Some new kid clothes

Looking back at the last few months, I have not made as many things as I normally would. Part of it is that I’ve been working on a couple of sewing patterns. But mostly, it’s been over a year of pandemic with my kids home all the time (they currently only have two days in school in person each week) and I’m just really mentally sapped. We’re about to begin summer and I never plan on getting much work done during summer vacation. However, I have a new pattern coming out in June, and some others pretty far into development, so maybe I’ll surprise myself?
