Free tutorial: Easter Egg Cutlery Holder

I’ve got a new tutorial for you today to make these adorable Easter Egg Cutlery Holders! I had a return customer come to me a few weeks ago and ask if I have ever done Easter cutlery holders. I had not! I made a few different versions before settling on the final version. We went with this elegant blue and white floral fabric and it turned out so cute.

As I was working on this custom order, I thought that this pattern would be a great addition to my new Free Tutorials section of my website. So I wrote up the pattern and you can get it here.

It’s a pretty good pattern for beginners, though I’ll warn you that the trickiest part is the 1/4” bias tape. I tried it with wider bias tape and wasn’t thrilled with it, so I stuck with 1/4” bias tape. Beginners may need to practice applying bias tape around curves. Bias tape is often sewed on with one of two methods. First, you sandwich your raw edges between it and sew it one go. Second, you open it up, sew along one fold, then close it and enclose the raw edges and sew a second time. In this tutorial, I picked the first method, but if that is too scary, you can adapt it to the second method. The final result is a cute and fun addition to your table.
